  My daughter had fallen when rollerskating and broke her adult tooth. My sister suggested I call Dr. Meade. He came in on a Saturday to see her which I really appreciated, but when I told him I had BadgerCare insurance and would pay cash or credit, he suggested I see a different dentist. My daughter really liked him, and since there are no dentists in our area that take my insurance, I still wanted him to finish the work on her tooth. I did not receive a follow up call on Monday like he said, so I called on Tuesday and scheduled an appointment for her. While on the phone with the receptionist, they again mentioned they do not take my insurance and I had to tell them once again I would pay cash or credit. I then received a bill in the mail from them with a note saying they do not accept my insurance. By this time I was starting to get irritated. They don't take my insurance. I get it. Then I get another phone call from them telling me to take her to a dentist in Delafield. I call the Delafield office and the dentist is on vacation. I call Dr. Meade's office back and tell them I'm keeping the appointment for my daughter because Dr. Meade had said her tooth needs to be taken care of as soon as possible. I thought the whole ordeal was over until the day of my daughter's appointment I got another call from his office from a different assistant. Dr. Meade had told her to call me and once again tell me they don't accept my insurance. I was outraged by this point. I told the assistant I would pay cash and the bill would be taken care of, and I also told her I was sick of them mentioning my insurance. I got fed up with them making me feel like I wasn't worthy of their services because I do not work for a company that offers insurance and I'm a single mother on BadgerCare. I called around and made an appointment with a different dentist, Dr. Gillingham, who's assistant was very nice and helpful and didn't mind at all that I would be paying cash or credit. Overall, Dr. Meade's office was very disrespectful to me. My suggestion would be if you don't have insurance don't see them, and if you have BadgerCare insurance do not mention this to them. They will treat you like dirt.
